- Oversees project tasks, meets goals and requirements, implements and provides guidance to customers from various fields.
Personal
Growing up in a military family, Shirley adopted the values of loyalty, duty, respect, and self discipline. Outside of work, Shirley loves singing, playing guitar and practicing her skills at the drums. She also enjoys cheering for the Carolina Gamecocks and loving on her son and her five beautiful grandchildren.

- With full support from our team, this is an active standing of staff, and leading DEI efforts to address issues and opportunities, provide vision, make recommendations, create strategies, or action plans, and/or oversee efforts at a departmental level.
- Collaborating with external entities to meet culturally relevant needs, provide resources and support, information-sharing, advocacy, or services that align with the institutional mission. Engaging in actions that impact change on a broader or systemic level with DEI in mind, the use of practices to improve diversity, marketing, or brand expansion within tour company.
- Organization, professional prioritizing DEI to foster change, empower others, stimulate thinking, advocate for, and/or offer viable alternatives to structures or practices that continuously generate the same cycle of challenges. The greater diversity, equity and inclusion is important to and for varied reasons, demographic changes of our society, social service providers and must be aware and welcoming to new diverse clients.
- We want our talent pool to reflect the diversity of our communities, and our clients to be best served and most comfortable engaging when our team members and leadership interaction, our perspective also to improve the quality of our organizational strategy bringing creativity and innovation to our problem solving, solution building future planning.
- We are not experts in diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), but our leadership role as the voice of vulnerable veterans and their families gives us a unique platform to raise awareness and to engage diverse groups in this work. We want to those other stakeholders to heighten the opportunity for a collective approach to this important and necessary effort. By working together, tapping into outside expertise, and holding each other accountable in an environment of mutual respect and shared responsibility, can and will make change happen.
